STAFF TRAINING

This course has been written to increase understanding of how racism shows up in an educational setting. In recent years there has been a national and global awakening on the impact of systemic racism in our society which has highlighted clear disparities in health, economic and educational outcomes for those from the global majority.

This course provides the foundations for educational practitioners to understand how some of these disparities have developed over time and how our role as educators to young people means we have a responsibility to understand how racism can be perpetuated under our current educational system. In order for students to feel safe and thrive in our environments they must feel valued and represented.

This course will help you to individually reflect on your role in ensuring anti-racist practice in the classroom and provide you with the knowledge and tools to move forward as a team benefitting everyone in your community.
